Privacy Policy
Folks is a digital social wallet: you build wallets of links and contact info and share them with a QR code or a link. This policy explains what data Folks collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the Folks mobile app (co.neumanntech.folks) and to this website, folks.neumanntech.co.
Who we are
Folks is operated by the NeumannTech team. For anything related to your data or this policy, contact us at neumann.folks@gmail.com.
Data we collect
- Account: your email address and a password (stored and handled by Google Firebase Authentication — we never see or store your password in plain text), or your Google account identity if you sign in with Google.
- Username: the public handle you choose.
- Content you create: wallet names and subtitles, and the widgets you add — links, phone numbers, email addresses, social handles, PIX keys, addresses, free text, and photos you upload.
- Saved contacts: wallets you save by scanning other people’s QR codes.
- Technical data: basic logs and diagnostics processed by Google Firebase when the app or the website communicates with our servers, such as IP address and device information.
How we use your data
Only to provide the service: creating your account, keeping your wallets in sync across your devices, and letting you share them through a QR code or link. We do not show ads, we do not sell your data, and we do not use it for any purpose unrelated to the app.
What is public
Every wallet has a web address in the form folks.neumanntech.co/username/wallet. Wallets you have not marked as private can be seen by anyone who has the link, with no account needed.
Wallets marked as private are not shown on the web; they can only be opened by signed-in Folks users in the app.
Your username is public — anyone who knows it can check that it exists and open your public wallets.
Only put in a wallet what you are comfortable showing to the people you share it with.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored and processed by Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Hosting/Cloud Run), on servers operated by Google, generally located in the United States. Google acts as a data processor — see Google’s privacy policy.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the app (Settings → Delete Account) or by email — see How to delete your account. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your account, username, wallets, photos, and saved contacts are erased.
Your rights
Under Brazil’s LGPD (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and receive a copy of your personal data, and to ask how it is processed. To exercise any of these rights, email us at neumann.folks@gmail.com.
Children
Folks is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it. See our Child Safety Standards for how we protect minors and how to report an account.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the new version will be published at this address with an updated effective date.
