Child Safety Standards
Folks is a social app: people build wallets of links and contact info and share them publicly. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) on Folks. These are our published standards against CSAE, our reporting channels, and our child safety point of contact. They apply to the Folks mobile app (co.neumanntech.folks) and to this website, folks.neumanntech.co.
Prohibited content and behavior
Any content or behavior that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors is strictly prohibited on Folks. This includes, without limitation:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form — including in wallet photos, names, links, or free text.
- Grooming: contacting or befriending a minor to facilitate sexual abuse or exploitation.
- Sextortion: threatening or blackmailing a person using real or alleged access to their intimate images.
- Sexualization of minors, including sharing links to such material elsewhere.
- Trafficking of a child for exploitation of any kind.
Age requirement
Folks is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly allow accounts belonging to children under 13, and we delete them when we become aware of them — see our Privacy Policy.
How to report an account
If you see an account or content on Folks that endangers a child — or anything else that violates these standards — report it through any of these channels:
- In the app: open the person’s wallet (from your contacts or after scanning) and use the Report option.
- On the web: every public wallet page has a Report link in the footer.
- By email: use the button below and include the @username or a link to the wallet.
What happens when you report
We review every report promptly. When a report is confirmed, we remove the content, terminate the account, and preserve the evidence. We report confirmed child sexual abuse material to the relevant authorities — including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and, in Brazil, SaferNet Brasil — and we cooperate with law enforcement investigations.
Compliance with child safety laws
Folks complies with applicable child safety laws, including mandatory CSAM reporting obligations and Brazil’s Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente (ECA).
Child safety point of contact
Our designated child safety contact is reachable at neumann.folks@gmail.com. This contact can speak to our CSAE practices and handles notices from authorities and child safety organizations.
